Jake Gustafson is a seasoned nonprofit leader with over 20 years of experience driving strategic growth, cultivating impactful partnerships, and leading high-performing teams. As the Chief Development Officer at Mary’s Place, Jake oversees a development and volunteer services team of 20, managing an annual fundraising goal of $21 million. Under his leadership, Mary’s Place launched its first-ever capital campaign, raising $20 million in the silent phase toward a $37.5 million goal. Previously, Jake served as Senior Director of Development at Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation, where he helped the foundation surpass its $1 billion campaign goal a year early and established Seattle’s first comprehensive sports philanthropy program. His leadership also fostered inclusive and equitable hiring practices that significantly diversified the foundation’s workforce. Jake’s commitment to innovative solutions extends beyond his professional roles. As the founder of Impact Sports Philanthropy, LLC, he partners with athletes, teams, and nonprofits to create strategies for sustainable fundraising and community engagement. A U.S. Coast Guard veteran, Jake earned his Bachelor of Science in Management from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, an MBA from Western Governors University, and an Executive Certificate in Sports Philanthropy from George Washington University. He lives in Seattle with his wife, Kalyn, and their two children, Elle and Emmett, where they enjoy traveling, attending sporting events, and spending time with friends.
